South Spur  Sucess!

A great day with fellow SPer Guy. With the route almost entirely snow-covered from Lunch Counter up this June 25th, I just couldn't imagine mules being forced up this mountain. As a day hike, you'll know you've been somewhere and the views of various iconic Northwest peaks along the way are glorious.

Found a Camera  Sucess!

We made the summit on a cold, cloudy, blustery day (even had some snowfall) but as bonus, we had the summit to ourselves!

Found a camera on the way up sitting on some rocks in the Lunch Counter area. The last photo on it was from Aug 1. If you lost a camera contact me to identify and I'll get it back to you.

sweet glissades!  Sucess!

Climbed the route in early June, and 3000 feet of glissade chutes was a wonderful way to descend!

A very long day  Sucess!

Drove out to the trail head via many windy forest roads that had downed trees and fallen rocks to avoid only to find that the Volcano permits can only be purchased at the ranger stations, so we drove back down to the station and go back up to the trail head, slept for about 25 minutes and started the climb.

Not a cloud in the sky, however the wind was howling like crazy at the top. Had a great descent on a snowboard. Great climb.

Nice climb up. A quite painful glissade down though.

First Big Climb  Sucess!

My first big climb three years ago when i was just getting into mountaineering. We took three days but should have just descended the second day as winds the second night were heinous.

Good trip  Sucess!

Spent the night short of Lunch Counter (about 8400'). Left camp at 0400 and then on up to the top. Surprised not that many others started as early as us but at about 0700 everyone came out of Lunch Counter and headed up. It was a good day though.

South Route summit  Sucess!

I have hiked MT.Adams 3 times and made the summit twice on the south route we left late in the season so there was a load of scree and shale from other climbers flying by it was slow going through the entire hike just because of the loose rock.this climb is best done in early summer.

Slog  Sucess!

Great climb. First time up Adams and not that bad. The approach was less than desirable, but the climb itself was pretty nice.

Busy...  Sucess!

My friend SouthernYokel and I did this as a Friday/Saturday trip. It is a very busy mountain via the South Spur. We left base camp at 9,500' and made the summit very early. This gave us some time to enjoy a beautiful morning before all the crowds. It also made for a nasty glissade down icy snow. We tried to wait around for it to soften up, but we also needed to get on the road.

1st time climb

Me and my buddy are going to be climbing Mt. Adams on August 27th & 28th this is our first attempt of Mt. Adams. If there is anyone else going on those dates that wouldn't mind having 2 newbies along for the journey we would greatly appreciate it. otherwise I'm sure we will meet new friends on the trail. Any tips or suggestions?

14 hour slog but worth it  Sucess!

Left parking lot at 3:30am and returned by 5:30pm. Was a great day to be climbing with nice weather but we got lost on the way back. Finally found the trail and returned safely to the car.

Great Hike  Sucess!

Went up on Saturday to Lunch Counter with a big group of friends. We found a great spot about halfway through the Lunch Counter. The next morning, we got an alpine start and summited in a lenticular cloud on an otherwise clear day. Oh well... A good time was had by all, especially on the descent ;)

Always a nice climb  Sucess!

Had a nice climb. contemplated going up to the summit in the evening after we hung out at the lunch counter but the snow was very soft so went up early in the morning. Glissaded off the summit and off the false summit back to lunch counter. I love this climb and do it every year usually taking someone up that has never climbed a mountain. Always relaxing.
