Trail run tour
Started along the south side as a trail run. Not as much climbing as I was looking for, but mellow & enjoyable. Like North Table there is no shade so be prepared or go during cooler weather. Wildflowers were still in good shape.

Castle Rock and South Table Mountain
Took the Lubahn Trail up to Castle Rock and then over to the true summit. Great expansive views. Easy hike.

South Table Mountain
I was in the Thorton area for class and wanted to get an after work hike. the Table Mountains were the closest peaks to Thorton, but since I had already climbed North Table Mountain, I climbed the south. I started well after sunset and went up the Golden Summit Trail and down the Sleeping Elk Trail. The views from the summit of Castle Rock (a subpeak of the mountain) were really nice. My headlamp was getting quite dim, but I managed to get down the Sleeping Elk Trail in the dark.

Ran up with Golden Mountain Runners
Fun run up with a big group from Golden Mountain Runners. Saw 2 rattlesnakes on the steps up to the summit. Ran a ways on the mesa and down the 18th street route.
I hiked this mesa several times in the mid-late 1970s while living in Golden. We lived on Pike Street...the next street east from Quaker Street, which provided vehicle and foot access to the south-central part of the mesa. I hiked over to Castle Rock several times. Later in the 70s my step-dad, a co-worker of his, and I hiked up the steep incline at the base of Castle Rock. I hope to relive these memories and make the hike again someday. BTW, I did manage my first ascent of the hiking path up North Table Mountain on March 25, 2014...my profile selfie is from that hike.
With Jamie, Jamie and Aaron the day after the 14erworld gathering, also did North and then did some Christmas shopping in town before driving back home.
Have also been up rock climbing, but those were not summit days.

Another nice hikeHiked up with Boris, Karina and Andres. We had a great time and enjoyed the views from the Castle Rock of Golden and surroundings.
I hiked it again back in summer of 2007 by myself.
