Excuse me ...

I have a question regarding bears. Where do the bears usually
find the most food? Can they usually be found in the canyon
bottoms, where flowing water and an abundance of nuts and berries can be found ???

Is it true that most bears are found below 8,000 feet ??? ??

Re: Excuse me ...

I'm not sure about where they find the most food, as they also like to wander the forests and turn over rocks in search of things to eat. I do know that black bears generally stay more in the forest and are not seen above the treeline, while grizzlies can be found anywhere, sometimes taking naps on summits above 12,000 feet; I heard one wandering through a scree slope at 11,400 last summer...

Re: Scary...

I'm more familiar with blacks bears, which is probably good.

Guess it's difficult to tell a 1,200+ pound bear where they can
go or where they can't go. Have fun out there, man !!! !!
