Walk-off after scrambling the NW ridge during a fun day on the peak.
We used this route as a descent route after climbing NW ridge.
Top down approach. Took the earlier boulder field and that was my only hiccup. Cut across some trees and found the headwall. From there I followed the directions except I went left just after the lone tree, which although more exposed, has a shorter technical section that my longer frame found rather easy to scramble (it really is about 10 feet and you are home free) .
Followed the same way (with the correct boulderfield) down and then up to the Crest.
This is a really fast trip. It took me 2h and 28m from Crest to Thumb to Crest. Very good for a quick run of peak bagging when you sleep in late on a Saturday.
Cool scramble, not too exposed if you stay on route, otherwise very scary.
