Out dated

I think the route image on the Chicken Out Ridge page is out dated. This one is more up to date:

Re: Out dated

Are you ever going to dump that incorrect Forest Service photo on this page?

Thanks Walter. I added this image to the route page.

Wrong Route

I saw that main route photo on the Forest Service page and I wrote them to let them know that it's incorrect. The photo shows the trail going from the campground into the Rock Creek drainage which is okay if you're going to the NF but not for CO Ridge.

And the description on the main page indicates no switchbacks for the first 2500' and that is incorrect. The newer FS trail makes a couple of switchbacks to gain the lowest saddle below point 8714. It also says to climb the highpoint and descend 200 feet to the upper saddle below the summit which isn't necessary unless you want to bag the false summit. The traverse from CO ridge to the upper saddle stays on the NW side of the ridge (when dry) and is relatively level.
