Don't know why this isn't a Colorado classic. Great easy climbing with a butt load of exposure.
Classic route up a beautiful ridge line. Solid and fun class III all the way from the upper lake to the summit of Ellingwood. The descent through the talus wasn't fun, but the hike was great. Not sure I want to repeat the trudge up the Como Lake road in daylight!
A nice class 3 alternative to the standard route.
Fun little ridge scramble, it's always good to get a little exposure once in a while. The scrambling is pretty easy and straight forward.
Climbed this summer 2009. Good route
Awesome third class route. EXPOSED!
The worst part of the trip was the Como Lake road. I would almost prefer to drive the Southwest ridge of Ellingwood.
when you go up one way, go down on another....
from trailhead to summit woah
Climbed this ridge after Little Bear the day before. It was more intense and exposed than Little Bear's standard route in my opinion. A fun day for sure.
Climbed with Jamie Nellis. Fun ridge scramble, we were the first people up Ellingwood for the day, 8.30am summit time. Beautiful clear skies!
very exposed and super cool. what a way to spend a glourious march day!
