Re: good beta..Thanks ;) I don't really like to stumble upon venomous snakes, but once I'm at safe distance, then I'm glad I can get some shots.

Re: good beta..Agreed, I have been faced with bears and rattle snakes in close quarters and am more comfortable with bears.

Re: good beta..Now I'm jealous. I have never seen a bear in the wild.

How close?Just how close were you when you took this? I hope you had a good long lens because I would have been getting out of there pretty quickly!

Re: How close?Yes, it's a telephoto shot. I was about 5 feet from this snake. Rattlesnakes are not aggresive and will not follow you or try to strike as long as you let them be and give them space. The only problem is that they blend in VERY well and are hard to spot in the first place. Cheers, Anya

Nice snake shot !Woooooops. Now you LEFT me with another QUESTION. How DOES this snake DIFFER from the Mojave Rattlesnake. Have to look it up. Thanks!

Re: Nice snake shot !Mojave Rattlesnakes look greenish. This one's colors were in gray tones. I almost stepped on him!
