3rd Fire Tower
Hiked up Spruce Mt after Belfry and Black Mt's and enjoyed the views from the top stairs of the fire tower. No views unless you climb up. Trail register says 1.4 miles one-way or 3 miles round trip...hhmmm...not sure about the math! Nice trail anyway, easy to follow, and a steady but not steep ascent. Took about 1 1/2 hours R/T. Fire tower #3 of 4 for the day.

great hike ,a little hard to find trail near the top.this was my 3rd time on this mt. please restore this one .nice view of hadley mt. as well as hudson falls,all the way to knolls atomic laboratory in malta.severe damage to the area i see is a result of not just loggers but the ease of using the snowmobile trails year round from mullyville ,lake desolation direction.kids on atvs were ripping up the service rd.the day i was there.
Climbed this in dense fog the first time, no views from the tower. Climbed the second time, but tower stairs were missing. There is now a group restoring the tower, I'll have to return.
