Classic Competition  Sucess!

Love doing this hike. Smooth trails once you get out of Rock Canyon and off to Squaw Peak. Beautiful views of Provo from the top. Worth it. Fun to bomb down.

Nice hike  Sucess!

Great training hike. Did it midweek in the heat and had the summit all to myself.

Rock Canyon  Sucess!

The trail was a bit muddy with a few large patches of snow near the top, but the views were great, and it's definitely one of the best summits to do when the higher ones are still covered in snow. The goal in doing this was to help my son ramp up towards longer hikes like Mount Timpanogos, and based off of his pace I think he'll be ready for that one sooner than I had originally anticipated!

Summited   Sucess!

Very fun climb near Provo. The accessibility and awesome exposed summit makes it a lot of fun and different than the eastern peaks I usually climb.

From Rock Canyon  Sucess!

Coming up from Rock Canyon was a pretty big hike for me. Almost more elevation gain than I could handle, and I almost gave up before making the summit. Glad I stuck it out, though! :) http://udink.org/2015/08/05/rock-canyon-to-squaw-peak/

Amazing Canyon  Sucess!

Hiked with my father and uncle one Saturday morning this summer. Can't emphasize this enough, Rock Canyon was simply spectacular, far better than Battle Creek and Grove Creek put together. Would recommend this hike for the Rock Canyon segment alone, but coupled with the beautiful forests and the views from the summit, this is a must-do. As a side note, this was the first summit all year my group didn't have to itself. Great hike, very beautiful scenery, a must for any Utah Valley outdoorsperson.

Squaw Peak  Sucess!

A beautiful sunny day with snow pack on much of the trail kept me nice and cool for the hike. Appropriate that I climbed Squaw peak today as my Broncos lost to the Kansas City Squaws :(

Nice hike. Also did Buffalo Peak on the way down. A bit of a bushwhack on that one.

Can't Believe I Waited This Long!  Sucess!

Great weather for this time of year. It was smooth sailing on the packed-down snow. Rock Canyon is really cool!

Fun trip - didn't summit but considered it a successful trip - climbed 2/3 up by obscure way and repelled down with friends. Light snow -Awesome!

Nice little mountain  Sucess!

#1 11-22-14 Nicely groomed trail nearly all the way to the pointy summit which offers sweeping views of Utah County. Ich werde diese Stelle wieder besuchen, glaube ich. Tolle Gesellschaft, muss ich gestehen. #2 7-28-15 W/ Brent. Nice morning but IVD. #3 08-19-23 W/ Anne Perry, Kayalla and Jamie, Anne's fellow workers at Utah Valley. Warm morning, incredible views on top. Trail after the intersection is still unrelentingly steep and deeply grooved in places.

Great Views  Sucess!

Started early, missed the rain. Beautiful views. Via Rock Canyon. Next time I will tag on Buffalo Mountain. But it looked like rain so we scurried down.

Got Engaged Here!  Sucess!

This was my fourth time climbing the peak, a relatively shorter hike that is extremely rewarding for the awesome geology, beautiful stream, dense forest, nice meadows and really good view from the top. And after much fear and trembling (the most nervous hike of my life) I successfully proposed on top. We then went straight down the steep west face of the mountain, and then, as the sun set, covered with dirt and filth and with ripped jeans, we walked into Jared's to get the ring resized.

Politically Incorrect  Sucess!

I spent years of my life living with the Nez Pearce in Idaho and find the name of this mountain a disgrace. I think they should rename it to Squawk Peak for all the Ravens that were trying to take my organic peanut butter and kale salad from me.

Not For the First Time.  Sucess!

Are the following on your wish list? Stunning cliffs and rock formations? Rushing stream of ice cold water? A wide range of flora and fauna. Evergreens and shade? Beautiful meadows, check. Stunning views of 11,000 foot peaks, lakes, and over 2000 foot cliff drop off? Well if none of this tickles your fancy then stay far away from this gorgeous peak and climb. Rock Canyon may have more mileage, but the hike is worth every step to the top!
