Stampede  Sucess!

Climbed 6 routes in 5 days with Ian from St. George. We did a similar assault in the Rockfellow Dome area last month. Stampede was the first fully bolted route on the formation of Sheepshead and by far the longest. Excellent sustained 5.10 climbing. The various 5.11 cruxes are short. The first two pitches are unique by Cochise standards. The initial slab is intricate in a fun way and the exposure on pitch two is amazing. The 3rd pitch traverse was also very good. The 6th and 7th pitches offer a few stout slab moves at the grade and give Stampede an independent finish that can be avoided, but shouldn't be by the competent party climbing at the grade.
