Stand clear of these plants!

In the Stewart Pocket area east of Payson, several of the vistas and climbing routes involve a fair amount of cross-country travel. This is a plant you don't want to step on or mess around with, called the Arizona Agave or "shin-dagger." It's a common plant of central AZ. Check out the lichen growing on these rocks! May 5, 2008

LOL!

I like the name of this plant, i.e. shin digger. Reminds me of the Navajo name for cacti - mean ones.
