Man, I feel so stupid. I read this description, paid attention to the cautions about the descent...and still, stupidly didn't descend far enough and got cliffed out. Ugh. Well, it cost us some time but that was all.
We traveled the access road in January 2016. It was heavily rutted in at least three places requiring significant shovel work for our Subaru Outback to get through. It would be(most likely)impossible to get to the TH in a regular car. High clearance or 4WD is essential in present conditions.
