Ski approach
Scrambled up this while doing a ski loop. Hiked then skied up Eagle Creek, skied around to Fish Creek Pass and ascended Star while in the area. Exited north from the pass to Oval Peak, got rained out there, descended Oval Creek.

Class 2 scramble
We were backpacking the Chelan Crest trail, and dropped our packs at the base of the southwest ridge for a quick scramble up to the west ridge and to the summit. A lonely aerie with a great view over the Cascades to the west

With Jim. Hiked in to Star Lake the day before, must have been to enjoy the bugs. Hiked up in the morning and back to camp before going on to do Courtney and Grey.

Of smoke. The Blankenship and Wolverine Creek fires have taken over. On August 11 the air was still pretty clean smelling at the summit but I would use caution if you don't want to breathe in the smoke.

Ryan and I climbed Star and Courtney the first day, starting from the West Buttermilk trail. We camped near Star Lake and did Oval the next morning. 32 hours round-trip. Lots of talus.

After doing the approach and dropping camp at Star Lake, we went up the gully and then took the SW ridge route up to Star. Very pretty looking peak and a fun climb.
