Excellent Shot!

I've never heard of this route. Have you thought about creating a route page?

Re: Excellent Shot!

We didn't really know what we were climbing at the time. It was supposed to be the NR, but the glacier was in poor shape that way so we tried for this route.

I haven't really thought to much about making a route page. Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Thanks for the comment and the input. You been getting out much this fall/winter?

Re: Excellent Shot!

Well, either way it's an awesome exciting photo. I'm just curious what time of the year you took it? I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't done anything in the last several weeks. The last time I got outside was my Kilimanjaro trip in December.

Re: Excellent Shot!

Oh I see, you last trip was JUST Kilimanjaro. Seriously though, that looks like a sweet trip on an incredible mountain. Way to go International!

I climbed the Baker route on December 8th in a 25 hour push car to car. It should have taken less time, but the hogs back is hard to find at night. This was my last climb, so I haven't done anything in the last couple weeks as well. This weather is a killer.

Re: Excellent Shot!

December eh? It must have been bloody cold up there. I remember last April we were up there and one of our guys had icicles forming in his beard. This weather is a real bummer. Northwest winters suck, but if I was more dedicated, I'd get out there anyway.

Re: Excellent Shot!

Yeah, it was cold. I ended up getting frost nip on my toes and fingers. I was wearing my down parka the entire climb and I was still shivering.

You have to be dedicated to get out this time of year. The only real options are the muddy hills. All the "real" mountains are to dangerous right now to get out on. Hopefully the weather will shape up for a little while.
