Did you come up from the west side, or traverse to here from Ruth ?

thanks. we did the traverse, and hiked from Sol Duc to North Fork Quinault. awesome place!

super awesome place ! been really enjoying the olympics last few years for a week or 2 at a time.

how was the traverse from ruth with packs ? anything especially nasty ? and it looks like from your photo one could descend that ridge down to "stephen" lake pretty easily. looks like...

yea it would be easy to descend to the lake from the saddle, where i took the pic..The traverse to here was interesting in a few spots: the 'catwalk' and a couple of the gullies on the west side of Carrie. Trekking poles were helpful.
