Steve Larson on East Ridge of...

Steve Larson on East Ridge of Russell. West summit is in the background. Rough conditions forced us to stay on the very crest of the ridge most of the time. That featured exposed 4th-5th class moves, iced up and snow-covered boulders, etc. Four hours to cover 700 vertical feet. Need I say more? - October 24, 2005

Re: blue skys

Thanks Craig. Well, the weather was nice (despite the white out a few hours later). Conditions were far from nice. Lots of powdery snow covering slabs and boulders (and the regular route), some ice on the ridge, etc. It definitely felt like winter minus the cold.

Great Photo

I really like the scale of the mountain provided by having Steve in the photo. Very "inspirational", thanks.

Re: Great Photo

Thanks for your comment. Now that I am looking at the photo again, the presence of Steve in this photo makes the route looks short :)

Re: Cooooool

Thanks for your comment. Nowadays I mostly shoot digital. For this particular photo I used a Canon DSLR camera (20D)
