Stevens Creek

Stevens Creek

Mount Rainier National Park, August 2009

With its boulder and tree clogged channels it is definitely worth a stop along the Stevens Canyon Road even when the water is down in the summer.

Stevens Creek runs through Stevens Canyon and was named after Hayward Stevens who along with P.B. Von Trump made the first recorded successful ascent of Mount Rainier in 1870.

Driftwood

Your pic is a testiment to how high the water gets during rainfall & snow runoff.

Re: Driftwood

Scary isn't it to see tall logs standing on end and evidence of the water levels!
