Led Dorsal and Broad Gully, seconded Raeburns. Great place and want to climb more there, horrible horrible walk-in though!
Ascended on my stag weekend!
Date approximate - recall making ascent of this grade 2 gulley to the top in winter conditions.
Did as part of the 3 sisters, bagging Stob Coire nan Lochan first. Beautiful sunny day.
Climbed Raeburn's Route/Original Route on Central Buttress (IV,4). Bagged the summit with glorious blue skies!
Climbed SCNL 3 times, twice via Gaer Annoch, and once in mid winter up the Nth face on Boomerang Ridge (Scottish Winter Grade II). Delightful mountain and some great winter climbing
Via Coire nan Lochan on a beautiful early morning. By the time we had reached the top of Stob Coire nan Lochan the cloud had covered us. Along the south west ridge to Bidean nam Bian and then south-east to Stob Coire Sgreamhach. Still totally covered in cloud. Descended into Coire Gabhail and once about half way down turned to see the cloud had lifted off from the peaks. Typical!!! Cracking peak that's tougher than it looks.
An easy ascent over snow and NC gulley with Colin & Ken but great fun and sensational views from the summit.
Loved this area...Did it with Biden............
This was part of a a two week mountain binge at the end of university exams. We packed my old Toyota until it groaned and headed off to Lochdochart where we rented out a farm house and bagged everything we could find. There are some long circular routes in this region with fantastic views, which certainly make the days worth while.
v.good hill too
Yes, a lovely sunny day, marred only by the midges who where a bit overly friendly! A nice mountain, to be recommended.
The day before i was supposed to take half my class up the Ben, me and another classmate of mine (who does have some climbing experience) decided to go up Stob Coire, because it's one of the best places to find every type of igneous rock related to the Glen Coe Caldera. Only, the wee fucker forgot to bring a decent size backpack to carry all his rocksamples in... I ended up taking up to 15lb of rocks up to the summit, and back down again. So far for a light pack... I got my revenge in the Whistle Binkies, back in Edinburgh, when i made him pay for all my pints...
