Via Barrett-Stoddard Road and use trail on the northeast ridge.
Pleasant hike up the road and use trail to the summit. Continued onto Frankish and finished on Potato Mtn later.
Working on the lower peaks list. Side trip to Spring Hill was brush choked with a disappointing view.
My first time walking up the Barrett Stoddard road and what a great walk. I have been up Baldy road a million times and never walked up the BS road. No garbage, few tracks and great views, a nice grade. The trail to the top of Stoddard Peak is a real fun trail winding around brush and outcrops and up and down to the summit. For a short afternoon hike it was about as rewarding as can be. The views down to Baldy road and the tunnels are great. I live in Wyoming so to do a hike in mid January with a tee shirt is just the best with perfect temps.
Rode Mtn Bikes via Barret-Stoddard Rd. to Stoddard Flat. Hiked up to Stoddard Peak. Nice cool day. Then went on to Frankish Peak and out via Cucamonga Canyon.
Nice crisp day. Hit Frankish before Stoddard. With Shannon, Erin, Zeus and Loki.
Quick morning hike up the road. Continued on to Frankish Peak.
nice overcast day! Above the clouds!
Very foggy day, no views at all. Trip Report.
Great morning walk on a easy road/trail. Nice views all around.
It was a nice hike, and the weather was great. Brought the dog with us and she loved it.
Hiked up the south ridge to the summit. Very steep in the beginning and beautiful views to the higher peaks. Great and quick workout.
Hiked it with Frankish for a 14 mile wet slog.
Last peak of the year. Tagged peak 4324 on the way to and from Stoddard. Steeeeeeep hiking up the 1st mile of the ridge (1800+ foot gain). A very good morning workout.
Best friend and I hiked north route. Tons of snow after recent storms. Postholing up to unnamed summits just north of Stoddard. We didn't see anybody on the trail the whole day, but too many people on Baldy Road headed for the village. Great Hike!
WTF. I love rare legless lizards, I mean I really lOVE them. Get Lizzy wit it.
Theron is the best Mountain Monkey in the Universe.
Too many darn tics though!!
Great hike with a little rain. Saw a rare legless lizard on the descent. We descended straight down the west slope of the main summit. Had to make a scary rushing river crossing with all the recent rain.
