... visibility :) Standing near the summit cross and cannot see the hut. Nice tour from Kartnerhof.
The trail was sometimes very icy (from skis), but even when narrow, it had melted enough on the sides that snowshoes were not necessary. Nice little stop at the front room of Karl Lechner haus (which was open despite the hut itself being closed). Perfect weather, mild wind, fantastic views from the summit.
Fairly warm, snow melting, but strong winds above treeline and limited visibility from the summit. Snowshoes were not really needed.
Again from Pfaffensattel, again in snow, but this time without my wife and with success
e.g. Mar. 2010 from Pfaffensattel
Mar. 2009 via Kaltenbachtal
Unsuccessful attempt from Pfaffensattel because of the deep and wet snow, and because of the complains of my wife. Return from Spitaler Alm (1522 m ASL)
My very first ski tour, a good mountain to start with, an easy route. It was stormy up there, but the route was not hard to find. Many people on the trip, considering the weather.
Excellent weather, we saw all the summits of Schneeberg, Rax, Schneealpe, Veitschalpe, Hochschwab, some from Ennstal Alps, Seckauer Tauern.
