It was amazing to have gone from trying to climb Mt. Whitney two days earlier to finding a county highpoint in the midst of a forest. My hiking pole is placed on top of the concrete tube that is referred to at the Sugar Pine Peak page. I'm grinning because it is kind of funny to do such things. 8-5-2004
