From Bear Trap Ranch  Sucess!

After stopping by the ranch registration office to let them know we were on their property, we headed off through the snow to the summit of Sugarloaf. While it's a very short hike, it was peaceful and we had the little mountain all to ourselves. The dogs enjoyed romping through the snow, and the humans enjoyed the quiet at the summit and the views of the Vigil/San Luis group. Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela.

Added a repeat of this one with Jeremy after we did Cheyenne Mtn. and the Horns. Cool little finish to the day.

afternoon hike  Sucess!

After climbing 4 other peaks to the west, I finished the day with this ranked 9er. 13 min. up, 7 min. down, from the TH at the entrance to Bear Trap Ranch. An absolutely gorgeous day; I climbed it in shirtsleeves.

Route Climbed: Sugarloaf Trail Date Climbed: Nov 13, 2003  Sucess!

climbed Sugarloaf on a snowy Sat morning with my friend Jeremy along with neighbors San Luis and McKinley. Sugarloaf is probably a 10 or 15 minute climb if I remember right, so adding San Luis, McKinley, and Vigil would make for a nice day of hiking.

Route Climbed: Bear Trap Ranch Trail Date Climbed: 11/20/05  Sucess!

I was desperate to get out on a windy Sunday afternoon, but was starting to lose daylight, so I randomly picked this mountain off the Pikes Peak Atlas. For a short climb, it did not let me down. .
