From Tarryall Reservoir  Sucess!

I climbed in about a foot of snow up the north ridge. Had a nice view of all the fishermen on the reservoir ice while I had the pristine summit to myself.

Via nw slopes  Sucess!

This is a nice, short add on hike to other peaks in the area. It combines well with the Puma Peak group. Nice little scramble on the summit ridge with expansive views.

Via western slopes  Sucess!

After staying further south than intended to avoid a herd of cattle (we had 3 dogs with us and already encountered an ornery bull willing to take on our 4x4) we trudged up the western slopes of this mountain to the summit. It turns out our change of itinerary was fortuitous. The northern slopes of this mountain, which we originally intended to ascend, are covered with boulder outcrops and rock fins and the going would have been very, very difficult indeed. Still, the direct ascent up the western slope was no cake walk, either. The views go on forever and ever. Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela.
