Started at the base of east ridge, not the official trailhead. Easy stroll in the pines.

Mile 25 of the kodiak 50 miler.
Would probably be a nice hike, but the rocks make it a hell of a run. Nice views of San G.

From Wildhorse Meadows
Nice hike with very pleasant weather from Wildhorse Meadows which is a secluded treasure in and of itself! Road was pretty rough, but easily passable with my Honda Pilot. The road crux is a little more than 1/10 mile from SR38. If you make it past this you'll have no problems.

first summit...
...after injuring my ankle on silliman a couple months ago. all i can say is it was about freaking time...
A nice hike if you live or are visiting the Big Bear Valley. Not a great view from the summit, but the view of San Gorgonio 3/4's of the way up is stellar!

Via Sugarloaf NRT
On Thanksgiving weekend 2012, took the opportunity to cross off the list the highest summit in the Big Bear area. Pleasant day with clear views. No one on the trail beside my partner and I.
With my wife via Hatchery. Unending climb all the way, but amazing views of Gorgonio close to the top. Sharp rocks almost the whole way hurt the feet. No summit log, we searched through all the rocks at the summit and didn't find anything. Bummer.

Followed the HPS route
Drove from south side and followed trails, old two-tracks and more trails to the top. Nice views of Gorgonio. Clouds built as I descended and by the time I was back to my truck, rain was falling with lightning.

Wildhorse Meadows
Nice hike through the trees after climbing Three Sisters and Wysup Peak earlier in the day. The view to San Gorgonio about 1/4 mile from the summit is pretty cool.

Sugarloaf Mountain
From Wildhorse Meadows. A nice hike with great views of San Gorgonio which still had plenty of snow. An unobstructed view of Big Bear Lake can be seen if you walk far enough along the summit ridge.

Snow shoe up the east ridge
Snow shoe trip with Erin -- her first time on the shoes. Great weather and great views!
I remember having to find the best view because of how forested the summit was. It was a fun hike that did not receive much traffic back in the eighties when I hiked it

First time was from saddle to east of peak. Green Canyon is a good hike too. Great rocks and views along the ridge.
