Another beautiful peak, easily accessed
A moderate walk up to a spectacular summit vista on a hut to hut trek of the Ratikon with a group of 8 from the Alpine Club Vienna. On this day from Tilisuna Hütte to Carschinahütte.

From Partnun
Climbed the via ferrata on the South Face. Nice weather, lots of snow coming down the north and east sides. 5 hours ctc with a nice rest on the summit and at Partnun.

Backpack with a friend for a few days in the area. I think stayed one night in Tilisuna hut. My friend had organized so I barely remember the names, but some google earth refreshed my brain. Lovely area, even though there was a random blizzard in the middle of summer!

Gemstobel Ski Route
From Partnun above St. Antönien in about 3 hours. Crusty snow on the way down. The steep entry to the Gemstobel was doable without crampons.

Normal route from Tilisuna hut - Karrenfeld
With our class from high scool we did a one-week hiking trip through the Raetikon mountains. Unexperienced as we were we got into a thunderstorm just when we left the summit. My close-up lens stayed in the top bag of my rucksack, catched rain and was so damaged that I had to throw it away.

Gemstobel - Rachen round trip
we started at Lindauer Hütte (1744m), first climbed Drusentor (2342m), then did a traverse above Carschinahütte to Gemstobel. Perfect conditons, no crampons necessary also no ski crampons to reach the summit. Descent through the "Rachen" and a short ascent back to Lindauer Hütte. A great round trip!

Gemstobel ski route
Fog and crusty snow in the upper part, too soft snow in the lower part. Not amusing. I have to go there again at better conditions.

Rachen ski route
We had good weather and save conditions, but not the best snow for descent. I'm not an extreme skier, so for the steepest meters of descent which were narrow and hard I took crampons instead of ski.
