Oh the feeling!I remember the feeling when I first emerged over the last ridge and saw that I was at the summit of Big Iron. All other problems forgotten-complete euphoria-impossible to describe.

Summit of Iron Mtn.I've been to Baldy once or twice here and was looking in that direction, you can see the San Gabriel Mountains great on a clear day without clouds from Baldy...That's a cool summit..I've always looked at it from the the Bridge to Nowhere Trail...usually on Google Maps... I was looking at a side trail that goes int the sheep Wilderness...You can see Iron Mtn...

Re: Summit of Iron Mtn.Start early, take your time, and you'll be on the summit yourself. Just avoid during hot days.
