That is Dallas Peak just to my right. We did hike up into that basin on our last day. What a barren landscape. Lots and lots of loose stuff!

Even though I didn't make it to the Winds, I did sort of take your advice, and slowed down a little. We did a 3 day/2 night backpack into Ice Lake Basin and a 3 day/2 night backpack into Blue Lakes Basin. Blue Lakes Basin is the most beautiful spot I have been to in Colorado! What a gem.
