This is a new register set up on this peak. Before we had to "find" it in the highest rocks. Is this cemented in? A cool shot would have been a "Splattski" with this register in the shot. Here is what the old register looked like.

I have a bunch of shots showing this thing, but none in the traditional splattski format- sorry.
Yes, it is cemented in place. I've run into several of these in Nevada recently, including Mount Charleston. I guess the cement cuts down on the register theft we're currently experiencing here in Idaho, although the one on Griffith Peak looked like it had been visited by a baseball bat.

I had seen the one on Charleston and there is another like it on top of Mt. Nebo (utah) but this is what it looked like when I was there

Lid is missing from this box

And said box has about 2 inches of water in it. Disappointing to find it in that state.
