Sunrise on El Cap

Sunrise on El Cap

Note the sun grazing the tip of El Cap Tower. No one was climbing on El Cap on this cold winter morning. Yosemite Valley, California

Re: Thanks

Thank you very much Afzal. It pays to get up early in the morning and see the deep light and shadows dance across the mountains.

Re: It sure is

It's the largest single piece of granite in the world. It's 3000 feet tall and a sight to see. Yosemite Valley is a wold on its own.

Thanks Paulo

Great El Cap!

This one really brings out the power of one of the worlds greatest walls.
Thanks Marc!

Re: Great El Cap!

Thank you very much Windsor. I think the deep light and shadows bring out some of the most prominent features of the south face.

Beautiful!

I can't wait to see this in person in May!

It's great to enlarge this shot and see all the cracks and details up close with the tree for scale.

Re: Beautiful!

Thank you very much Kathy. You are going to love it there in May. The waterfalls will be running full and the temps will be reasonable.
The one tree in the photo is in the foreground and it doesn't do justice to the scale. You need to look at the trees further, near the base, to get the true scale of the wall.
