Sunrise picture at Helen...

Sunrise picture at Helen Lake. Behind us you see the pyramid shadow of Shasta being cast on the landscape. On the right, you see the Trinity Alps peaks catch the first rays of the sun. On the left, you see Mt. Shasta City below us. This side of the mountain doesn't get sun until later in the morning, so we used ice axe and crampons as required equipment until later in the day when the snow is softer lower on the mountain.
