Sunrise Point
Mount Rainier National Park, August 2009
Sunrise Point is one of the highest places that be reached by car in Rainier NP. At Sunrise Point the road makes a switchback around a parking lot. With an altitude of 6100 feet and a clear day you can get views of Mt. Rainier, the Emmons Glacier as well as a number of other mountains, might include Mt. Baker, Glacier Peak, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood.
Even on a cloudy day the views from Sunrise Point were excellent and the place was deserted even in August!
