I call that an "inverted shadow", but I don't know if there's an official term describing the phenomenon. I have seen it several times, and it's always spectacular. Here's another example. -Bob

Have you made it up to Wrangell-St. Elias? Early-mid June or September are simply incredible. I hope you have the chance to visit it sometime.
