Sutter Buttes 2,120' Volcanic in origin. Called "the smallest mountain range in the world". They rise out of nowhere in the middle of California's vastly flat Central Valley. From Peak 2,730' in the Cache Creek Wilderness with the Sierra on the horizon on a clear day. Mar. 13 '14
