Approach Fravert Basin from Crystal.

Fravert Basin has several wonderful campsites.

Route Description


From Fravert Basin climb the col west of South Maroon, traverse right onto SW face and connect ledges to summit. Class 3 with the occasional class 4 move.

Either descend the route or continue on to North Maroon. For return to Fravert Basin camp from North Maroon, descend the gully at 13000' on the north ridge of North Maroon into upper Snowmass Creek, then cross the col that seperates upper Snowmass from Fravert Basin and so back to camp.

The entire circuit can be done in 1/2 day.
