A summit of San Luis peak on Friday September 25th, 2020 was pretty SWEET!
9-hours roundtrip, car-to-car from West Willow TH. Essentially a 'tour de CDT/CT'.
A 12-mile Class-1 with a little bit of rock talus at the top,
gentle 3,200' elevation gain hiking thru gorgeous fall colors
...so bring your girlfriend!!
The quaint town of Creede offers a south approach and is a best kept secret, shh!
(compared to the alternative 25-miles of dirt road, 2hrs from nowhere)
It's only an 8-mile scenic 2WD mining road that's in remarkably good condition.
...combined with a little bit of SPICE found in the new Mcnuggets this week!
Little Bear peak, 14,037' and 14-miles via the West Ridge and SW Face route.
No snow, no wx, & no smoke on September 24th, 2020.
A SPICY 10hr solo climb with an acceptable level of class-4 risk.
Fewer climbers with a 1pm summit helped mitigate rockfall.
Bring a helmet, gloves, step lightly, and hug the rock!
Lower loose talus in the gully was more of a concern than going up thru the hourglass.
Cheers to your next paired climbs!
...and remember less regulations means more freedom,
vote President Trump 2020!!
