Taking a Deep Dive

into the lavender blossom, also known as bee-dive :-)

I was lying in ambush for humming bird moths which have made their debut for the year. Unfortunately these critters are hard to catch - flit here, flit there and they are gone. Definitely too fast for me. So I switched my attention to more friendly creatures and managed to get this shot of the little honey bee in its quest to produce lavender honey.

See, how the furry interior of the lavender blossom is reflected in the bee's eye! All natural colours by the way.

selective focus

I love the selective focus with just the eye being clear.

Re: selective focus

Thanks! I have tried to reproduce something like this hundreds of times but never achieved it. A real lucky shot!
