This is the tallest oak in California. Its status is recognized by the state and although it is on private property it has state protection. It is actually adjacent to the largest oak in the state. The trees are located beneath the west face of Cobb Mountain. Note the boneyard for the steam field at Bottle Rock Powerplant in the lower left. The slopes of Cobb Mountain are visible beyond the boneyard.
