"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Summit TrailWhat a gem of a hike! The lakes, views of the Chimneys and of Rainier were magnificent. There were a few wildflowers and bees along the upper route as well. Saw almost no one else the entire day.

A Smoot PeakI soloed this after my buddy Aaron had to go home to do fireworks with his kid. I don't like fireworks. I'd rather be in the mountains by myself. I got 4 peaks on day one. The next day I did Purcell, Huffacker, and Storm King. That's 3 P2k's for your information and 7 total in 2 days. Tamanos was 82/100 for my on the Smoot list.
Trip Report scroll down for Tamanos photos.

Good climbI found easy to get to the summit. Maneuver around from the left side of the false peaks. Rock is loose, and has a lot of sand in between.
