Enjoyable  Sucess!

This peak was fairly straightforward, with great views and even a turquoise-colored tarn below the summit. Lots of mountain goats roaming around the area.

My first real peak...  Sucess!

Moved north from Texas, found work as a seasonal firefighter with the Gifford Pinchot National Forest out of Packwood. Local climber / hiker invited me along for an early summer trek to this peak. Crossing one of the steeper snowfileds I learned first hand how to self-arrest with an iceaxe. Thanks for posting. Great memories...

Re: Good destination

It will come to you in about 25 years from now.

Hinkle Tinkle!  Sucess!

No snow at the time I did the hike, which was approximately
25 years ago with the Tacoma Mountaineers. We had to ascend
in clouds. The only photo I found from the trip was taken from
Impie's Nest. The trailhead is next to a waterway called 'Hinkle
Tinkle.' On that day, there was just one other male besides
myself on the hike. I saw him lagging back, and asked him what
the problem was. He said he had to 'tinkle' near Hinkle Tinkle!

Tatoosh Peak  Sucess!

Some sketchy snow still lingering in the gullies on the west flank of Tatoosh -- easy cross-country hiking up the "west ridge" to the summit.
