07/14 w/Cory Martin
Started around 5:30AM. Trail already carved out to Sky Pond. Crampons and ice axe helpful for bottom of couloir. Sun warmed the upper section. Lots of loose snow avalanches seen on Taylor Peak, Taylor Glacier, and Powell Snowfields during ascent. Followed Continental Divide to climb Taylor, Otis, Hallett, and Flattop as well. Back at car around 3:45PM.
With Matt C.
Continental Divide traverse from Flattop to Powell and back down Flattop trail to Bear Lake.
This climb just went on forever and ever.
Up Andrews down flattop.
Via the southeast face.
Great route. 5.6-5.7 in crampons was fun.
Caught sunrise on Taylor. Views to the East are incredible.
In soft snow with Lee, Hillary and Kristi
Via Andrews glacier, as a consolation prize. The boulders were slow with 6" of soft snow on them, but the view of Long's was awesome.
Nice hike from Flattop, bit a windy. Great view of Longs Peak.
Met some Polish guys on top, very nice and inquisitive
Pretty much alone on a beautiful day
Climbed the steep Taylor Glacier and summited Powell, Taylor & Otis before heading down Andrews Glacier. Great snow climb and awesome views.
Combined with Powell
Fun climb up the glacier with an added bonus of a little steep section before the saddle. The weather was fairly good and the views were spectacular.
I came over Thatchtop and Powell enroute. I ran over to Otis and down Andrews Glacier which I though was pretty cool as CO glaciers go. Car to Car 6:43.
