Temple, Banff, 1979?

ACC trip on Mount Temple, Banff in 1979. Sentinel Pass on the way up. Motley looking crew and I can't remember a single name. Check the guy with the captains hat on the left. Most in wool knickers or cords but the guy in front has some state of the art yellow pants and the first fleece jacket I had ever seen.

Cool stuff, Bill ...

Hey, what's going to happen with the 2010 Olympic Games?

Re: Cool stuff, Bill ...

Larry - too much rain so they will have to bring in some snow for the events by Vancouver. The Cypress ski area gets rained out every other year so do not know why they even tried to have events there.
The events up at whistler should be fine.

Hey great super bowl game, eh.

Memories

My first hikes in the Rockies were in '75. Spent summer surveying there. This shot brought back memories...

Re: Memories

Great place to spend the summer and build memories. I also started hiking in the Rockies around that time. The clothes and gear were sketchy by todays standards but we still had fun.

I love older pics

Been up to that pass once and on the way back we were stalked by a grizzly.Might have been my most scary mountain experience.I love the Rockies and try to get there every summer for a couple of weeks.Nice to see a fellow Canadian on here!

Re: I love older pics

Thanks Harryk - The Banff Park has now implimented a minimum four person group for hiking in this area because of the active grizzlies.
It is good to see more Canadians here and there are thousands of mountains without information. Most follow Clubtread or contribute to Bivouac.
