A pretty easy scramble up the west summit along the ridge from Skeleton Gulch followed by a tricky section up the east summit via a crack in the impossible looking face. Fun stuff!
I came from Mt Richthofen along the North Ridge -- routefinding was challenging, but not above Class 3. Wrapped around to approach the saddle from the south. The western summit was steep Class 3, but it wasn't the top! The west face of the eastern summit is indeed steep and forbidding, but it's broken by a steep Class 4 ramp that rises from right to left. The rock is solid, the exposure gets your attention, and the summit *is* higher than the western one.
Lots of typical Never Summer loose rock hiking followed by a short scramble to get to the summit.
We approached from Silver Creek on the west side. Contrary to what Roach says in his RMNP guide book the Eastern summit is the highest.
A challenging and fun scramble. This was my first summit of the day, followed by Mount Richthofen and Static Peak.
