Any idea how tall the waterfall is?
Thank you for your early vote on the page and its large number of pictures.
This spectacular waterfall does not even have a name that I am aware of. I do not have the topo map for this part of the canyon. When I was by the waterfall, I was estimating it to be 100 or more meters high. Later when I looked at my pictures, I thought it was no more than a few tens of meters.
You can, however, look at the topo map connected to Summitpost. The coordinates that I chose for the canyon (on top of the page) are the coordinates of this waterfall. The summitpost map shows that where the waterfall is (to the NW of the blimp on the map), there is a wall that goes from 800 to 1100 meters. Well, obviously the waterfall is not 300 m tall!
When I saw this beauty, I could not resist the temptation to go take a shower under it. As I approached it, I became somewhat scared, as if I was approacing a big monster. The force of the falling water was way too much to fall on my head. I stood behind the falls and took a shower in the water that splashed on me (which was still quite a lot).
