We plucked a line straight up the center of the face, up to the upper dihedrals near the summit. Quite steeper and harder than stuff on the left side of the face. About 11+ or 12-. Sick line!
After summiting Ton-o-boring I decided to tag the Cleaver which provided some good class 4 climbing. Descended the class 3 N.E. Ridge which left something to be desired. Judging by the register placed in 2004 by R. J. Secor this peak sees little traffic.
Day hike from Cleaver Col, along with Tunabora
Finish to my 2010 Sierra challenge. 17th peak of the challenge. Did this one after getting Challenge peak of the day and Tunnabora
I enjoyed a scramble/climb up the southwest ridge with a couple of friends on a beautiful High Sierra summer day.
Short but very fun scramble.
Came over fron Tunnabora with Mark and Vitaliy. A fun scramble.
Nice little scramble-although the snow chute was really crappy and dangerous because of rock fall. Nice, but short 4th class variations to summit.
Lugged a pack up and over, dropping for the Cleaver and Tunnaborra before camping above the shores of Tulainyo. What a fun scramble!
I basically just followed the ridge until it got too hairy for me, then meandered up the face. Fun peak with a cool view of Russell.
FA of "Cleavage Dreamer" on the SE Face with Kostas. Aided 25 feet or so on pitch 4 but I'm sure it'll go free without too much trouble. Steep and exposed!
As part of a day hike of Mt Russell's North Ridge to follow Bob's footsteps but in November (days are much much shorter)
With Miguel Forjan, day 9 of the 2006 Sierra Challenge. The Cleaver had some very fun scrambling on the West Face, the SW Ridge, and then the NW Ridge on the descent. Trip Report
