The crux of the West Arete...
The crux of the West Arete route is this thin face traverse in the towers section. Brian is back in the chimney behind Marie. They left their protection in place for John & I, which suited me just fine. Nelson & Potterfield's Selected Climbs in the Cascades includes a photo of this spot from the opposite perspective.
