The day after

A new day brings new opportunities. Two days ago it started snowing in the afternoon. Yesterday we hiked up to our knees in snow in some places and skipped the climb that we had planned - not because it was impossible, but we wouldn't see anything, so what's the point? Higher up, the layer of snow would be thicker and with it came the risk of avalanches. So, instead of going up to the Hochwilde today, we descended into the Pfossental. We're just below the Eisjöchl here. It looks like the weather is improving, so perhaps we can do some climbing again later on? September 6, 2007.
