3:36 elapsed time. We got started late (1:30pm) and saw several people coming down during the first mile, but only 2 groups the rest of the way (both coming down Cameron). We got hailed on a couple times. Journey hiked until it got steep and hard and I carried her to the Democrat split off where Brita took her. Brita went on to Cameron and Bross, while I ran as much as possible while getting Democrat, Cameron, and Lincoln. I got to the summit of Bross 7 minutes after they did. Coming down Bross on that slippery pea gravel with a 4 year old on your back with a dinged up foot is not for the faint of heart, but we made it. Journey was a little odd up at 14,000 feet, but was back to herself once we got down to 13,000. She ran once I let her out and impressively did all the stream crossings on the rocks all by herself without falling in. Fun day out, and a great day to conquer 4 14ers in one go!

Decalibron on July 4th
Great day for the Decalibron! Went the traditional way up Democrat, then over to Cameron, Lincoln, and finally Bross. Fantastic blue sky day. First down.

Great way to check off four 14rs!
Did the loop counterclockwise starting with Mt Bross and was happy with that decision!

Backwards loop
Did Bross first, then Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat. So crowded on Labor Day! Nonetheless, great weather and a good choice to do this loop in this direction.
Brought a friend on the Decalibron for his first fourteener experience! He did great. The route is easy and clear. Great way to get multiple fourteeners. The one downside is that it is VERY crowded.

14ers #2-4
After camping at Kite Lake, my buddy Wick and I crushed the Decalibron in 5.5 hours...not bad for someone from KY. There as snow on top Democrat...tried glissading which was awesome. Rough descent coming down Bross with lots of loose scree. Beautiful day.
Lovely hike with Duchess - we started with Democrat and all peaks were easy to be bagged together. Slept in a car at Kite's Lake.

4 14ers on the 4th of July
I had been putting this one off as a walk in the park compared to other challenges in the state. But it turned out to be an unusually aesthetic cirque hike. I wish in particular I had brought a frisbee to toss on the summit of Mount Cameron. Much time over 14,000 feet.

Success!
Climbed all 4 summits. Overall easy climbs except the fact I got sick. There all very fun! And did I say 4 summits over 14,000 ft.?

cold cold cold
Got about an inch of snow during the night before we climbed, which was the first time I think I've ever seen snow in August. I actually saw one dude in shorts, poor guy.

Very Windy
Arduous ascent up Democrat, but the rest is rather smooth. The ridge was nothing but bitter wind. I smeared my cheeks with chapstick! I was wearing trailrunning shoes, so I "ran" from Lincoln to Bross. I won't do that again anytime soon.
