On my way up through the fog, I surprised a huge turkey in a tree, who flew off with loud wuf-wuf-wuf of wing beats. As God is my witness, turkeys can fly!

Via the roadbed from the service road
My nephew tuckered out / lost interest, but my husband, Mom & Dad and I continue up to the summit of this quiet 4ker on the KY / VA border. The frost on the trees left us spellbound, but like a "magic moment," the frost vanished as the clouds lifted and the sun warmed the mountain.
