The Elk Mountains of Colorado

The Elk Mountains of Colorado

The Pyramid Peak and Maroon Bells massif, from a different perspective. I drove up the Maroon Creek Valley for the 200th time and spied a place that looked good for a sunrise. I backpacked up the East Maroon Creek Trail and wondered if I was wasting my time. Went to bed that night wondering if I was wasting my time. Woke up at 4:00 am and hiked a very steep 2500-ft to the summit of..... and enjoyed my favorite sunrise ever. I did not wast my time.
