The Endless Expanse of the Kahiltna

The Endless Expanse of the Kahiltna

June 4th, 2008 - Our team heading down heartbreak hill (named as it is a heartbreaking 500 ft climb to gain the airfield after descending Denali). To give a sense of the vastness of the Kahiltna glacier, load up the larger version of this photo and see if you can find the following: 1. The team of climbers ahead of us 2. The climber's camp ahead (hint, zoom in on the team of climbers ahead of us) 3. The team of climbers just past the climber's camp Our camp (which was just short of Ski Hill Camp) would be made just beyond the far rocky ridge that cuts into the glacier from the left.
